Actor, writer, and producer Brandon Bell is an upcoming talent who is best known for his work as "Troy Fairbanks" in the award winning, 2014 Sundance Film Festival independent feature Dear White People, landing him a 2015 Black Reel Award nomination. Recent credits include a guest starring role on Issa Rae's Insecure (HBO) and the lead in the Jason Blum produced mini-series Ascension (SYFY)
Born in Dallas, Texas to a large family Brandon moved often and attended various schools finding solace in sports and the arts. Excelling in varsity football and soccer throughout high school, Brandon's talents led him to compete in Paris, France and at the USA World Cup. In the off season, his parents enrolled him in the African American Children’s Theater (AACT) where he would develop an appetite for theater arts. Brandon continued to train and perform in various classes and productions at Penumbra Theater and the Children's Theatre Company ( CTC) fostering his dream to become a professional actor.
In addition to receiving his B.A. from the USC School of Drama, he earned his Masters Degree in Education teaching drama and poetry at a local charter school in Los Angeles where he continues to mentor today.
Next, Brandon will reprise his role of Troy in the Dear White People series on Netflix premiering this spring.
